The Eastern Caribbean Automated Clearing House was established in 2011 to plan and implement a cheque imaging and electronic payments system, shared by participating banks in the Eastern Caribbean Currency Union (ECCU). ECACH is jointly owned by the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank (ECCB), and commercial banks in the participating countries. It is governed by the Payment System Act and the ECACH Rules issued by the ECCB.
